You can change the project a server belongs to. This is useful in cases such as when you need to promote servers to production. Go to the page of the server you want to move and select Switch Project from the Actions button. Confirm that you’d like to move the server by typing the server hostname.   • The destination project must have the same billing option (On Demand or Reserved) as the server’s current project. See On demand vs. Reserved.
  • Projects under a custom contract aren’t available as a destination.
Billing Moving a server to a different project doesn’t cost anything but affects how your invoices will look for the next billing cycle.
  • For on-demand servers, usage counting stops for the previous project and starts for the new one.
  • For monthly reserved servers, you get a credit for the remaining time from the previous project and get charged for the full month for the new project.
  • Yearly reserved servers are not supported. Please contact the team if you need to move a project under contract.
Server status remains the same When you move a server to a different project, no action is taken on the server itself, meaning that there is no provisioning or reimaging of your machine.
